A blog about sewing by an aspiring amateur
Modesty not in the vocab?
I gather from the hats that these ladies were wedding guests - even worse!
Oops - just saw the post below about the Melbourne Cup - still bad!!
A wedding? I thought they were call girls at a horse race.
at least they have nice hats? ;p
Oh dear... but funny!I LOVE that the girl who won in the fashion stakes designed and made her own dress!! Should be splashed across the front pages, YAY for the home seamstress!I agree with you, the Chanel dress was cheating...
Great post, thanks! When I was a recent immigrant to Australia, I was teaching preschool in a remote Aboriginal community. Three consultants arrived in early November. They were doing educational research and advising us on our program. I was very confused when they came to the preschool on Tuesday morning laden with champagne and wearing beautiful dresses and hats. In the early afternoon, we sat down with the children to watch a horse race on TV. The adults drank champagne. What a good idea! I've followed this charming custom ever since, but now I take the day off work and host Melbourne Cup lunch at my house for lots of well-dressed friends. Champagne is served in quantity and I'm glad not to have to drive home :-)
And those hair extensions. ICK
Yikes...that's just too bad, especially the third picture. And I guess they all thought they were the 'belle of the ball'.
What is it with young girls jamming Double D tits into size 8 B cup dresses? One of my staff, who is a chunky girl with Double D tits, is competing in the Mullumbimby Showgirl this year (yes, how very rural). She jammed herself into a size 10 dress when she is a good size 16. She wasn't the only one. Most of the girls wore outfits like you've shown here. I think the chugging directly from the champagne bottle in the second picture says it all, really.
Tee hee hee. Too funny.
My oh My the first picture on top is so eloquent. some people don't think twice before going out of there house.
Yikes is right! I love the winning red outfit -- and I totally agree that the Chanel was a cheat!
Wow! Brave little ladies, huh? Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving comments lately. I've been meaning to email you and I just haven't had time to sit down and think. You have always been one of my best blogging friends!
I completely agree with you!!
Oh my!What can I say? It's just too awful, isn't it? These girls should all watch Madmen or something to get an education on fashion. Thanks Gail fot the comment you left me about my blue animal print jacket set.
