I have recently acquired some OOP men's patterns in my armoury, Burda 6111(parka), McCalls 8409 (shirts) Vogue 8043 (trousers) and McCalls 3363 (pullovers and zip jackets), so expect further forays into menswear.

The coat looks great on him and love the color.... Awesome work.
ReplyDeleteFantastic. Looks so professional. Great colour.
ReplyDeleteThat looks fabulous, great job! I love the idea of the 'casual rumpled intellectual' vibe.
ReplyDeleteWell done. It certainly does have the casual intellectual thing going on. I think the colour looks good. You should be felling very proud of yourself.
ReplyDeleteWhat an impressive undertaking and a terrific result. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteThe jacket look s great!
ReplyDeleteFantastic Gail, you have done a great job with the tailoring and personally I like the style and colour. Tony wants me to sew him a casual nylon zippered jacket, similar to one he bought years ago but can't find in the shops. I can't find a pattern either, but your comment on vintage patterns makes sense!
ReplyDeleteGail, your model is awesome. He is actually wearing the wonderful garment whilst a camera is in operation! I shall speak sternly to my model about his utter slackness in comparison.
ReplyDeleteThe jacket is terrific. I like the colour, it looks great with jeans, but the excellent construction and fit of the jacket make it a really smart outfit.
wow..you have done such a great job...well done...it look so fabulous... great that Mr fabrication is happy to wear it all..welldone
ReplyDeleteLove the colour and the fit on your DH, you have done wonderful work on this jacket.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Gail, looks absolutely fantastic! You have every reason to be proud of this beautifully finished garment. The model looks quite professional, too :)
ReplyDeleteI love the colour, but I can understand the association with the school blazer... the reason why forest green, the colour of my daughter's blazer, is a colour not worn much in this house... my sons' blazers were black but there's not getting away from that colour!!
Sorry, I meant "no" getting away from, etc...
ReplyDeleteLove the poses by your model, he's an expert at it! The finish on your jacket looks so professional, and I quite like the khaki colour because it's not the standard black or navy you general see on men but I can see how it would be harder to style.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! The jacket looks wonderful Gail and what a loving project. It looks very RTW and the khaki colour is great; it looks classic but modern at the same time (if that makes sense?). Mens patterns seem rather thin on the ground so what a good score finding an OOP collection.
ReplyDeleteThe jacket looks great! The fit looks really good and I'm sure your DH will grow to love the color. I think it was a nice choice.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteThe jacket looks very nice. Very artistic poses by the model which hide his face. Did he have a mischievous grin on it? The color is one of my husband’s favorites.
ReplyDeleteFantastic work! It looks like a shop bought one!! WOW
ReplyDeleteI think DH was holding back his jump for joy look. You'll have to work on that. Great jacket.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. What an accomplishment! It turned out very professional looking and your DH is very lucky to have such a devoted wife. Now you deserve to make something ffor yourself for sure.
ReplyDeleteFantastico! An awesome job! What a proud husband of the pledge made by you, it shows in the face of pride!
ReplyDeleteThat is such an accomplishment - it's really impressive! Your husband looks pretty happy... I am not going to let my partner see this though!
ReplyDeleteawesome job!!! super stylish.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! And your plan? Very ambitious..
ReplyDeleteThis project is such a sucess. Super work !!!
