Unfortunately the navy one is just a little bit tight - an incentive to shed those excess kilos I've been lugging about all winter.
Speaking of seeing red, I pulled the red dress out of the magic cupboard and I hate the top half more than ever. Toting up the cost of the fabric and realising that I will never wear it as it is, I am remaking it into something else, so watch this space.
The Missoni coat has been worn three times now. I absolutely love it. Last night I wore it over the red t-shirt and my vogue black skirt (which I've worn to death). It felt great to be wearing a complete ensemble made by me.
What's next? I need to make my daughters and husband (if he will let me...prefers the ragged hobo look) some clothes and then I will get on with my spring/summer wardrobe. Sydney is hot after November so I want lots of white and beige linen, cotton tees and dresses. I also need some special occasion dresses as my daughter is in her graduation year and there are a few gladrag functions to attend.
Nice outfits! Interesting that you are going into spring/summer while we in the US are heading into fall/winter.
ReplyDeleteThe new tops look great! I love that you're refashioning something you just made. Can't wait to see how it's transformed. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the self drafted tops. They are so unique. You did a great job. I have a Melie Purdie tank and wrap top in mushroom(when I was home last)-I cannot believe that fabric washes and wears so beautifully with such abuse!
ReplyDeleteYup, yup. I'm all about refashioning wadders. ;)
ReplyDeleteYour sarong skirt+red T combo is fabulous!
I love all the COLOUR you're injecting into your wardrobe. So vibrant and lovely. Can't wait to see the refashion.
ReplyDeleteYour skirts and tops are great! I just read your comment on Lindsay T about the cheerleading .... have you not seen the start of an ARL match? Cheer squads are the go here as well - we can run but we can't hide!
ReplyDeleteYour tops are great and self drafted, too! I love those two skirts. As for sewing for men, I have learned that once they realise how easy getting clothes can be, you'll end up making everything. No going and trying things on and all in the comfort of their own home. I don't know Melie Purdie, so I'm off to look it up! Oh and I joined the Chanel coat sewalong ... I'll blame you if it goes awry!
ReplyDeleteWow, you've been a busy girl! Very nice, all around, I'm desparately overdue for nice t-shirt tops for work!
ReplyDeleteCool! My husband won't let me sew for him tho. Nor will my son, except for 70s week that he had at high school. But I have two girls that let me and that keeps me busy!
ReplyDeleteThat Missoni is awesome by the way!
They look great! And good match with the skirts .. I really must try matching what I sew to what I have too... so much more sensible!
ReplyDeleteI am in the same boat as you, with this being my daughter's graduation year too. She'll be needing lots of dresses. I never considered sewing for my husband, though I can see making a Hawaiian-style shirt for my 14-year-old son.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skirts, the new t-shirts are just right for them.
ReplyDeleteNice works, now with the red one, you can combine it with a red pants. Kisses.
ReplyDeleteNice tops! And I love those skirts that you paired with it. I know I'm a little behind since you stopped by my blog, but wanted to say hi anyway!
ReplyDeletemy favourite is in fact the original skirt you wear about the red top...is that something you made?
ReplyDeleteVery nice outfits --- the skirt fabrics are really unique, so the t-shirts are a nice and simple counterpoint to them. And I'm so glad to hear you are wearing that stunning Missoni coat!
ReplyDeleteCool outfits!
ReplyDeleteVery nice style of t-shirt! Great with the skirts!
ReplyDeleteThe Missoni coat is fab too!
I just adore the skirt with your red top...did you make that one. Great work with the knits.
