This is my first of spring summer outfits. The skirt is from Simplicity 2475 which I fully lined because of the colour. Great pattern that achieves a very good fit. Next time I make it I have to change my adjustments to the waist band slightly as I kept too much of the curve resulting in a distinct inverted v at the side zip.
Astute readers of my blog will also notice that I have retrieved my blouse from Mini-me! I want to fix this blouse again to get it right. It looks quite nice, but the shoulders don't fit well. I think I need to widen the arm hole at the underarm.
I also want to thank Rosie from http://sewingadicta.blogspot.com/2010/09/blogger-award.html and Rebecca from http://uglycutedesigns.blogspot.com/2010/09/beautiful-blogger-award-yay.htmlutm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+UglycuteDesigns+%28UglyCute+Designs%29

I am the wrong side of 50
I like to travel
I quit my job in the city to return to my consultancy practice
I have recently acquired a huge stash of patterns and fabric (this is not like me!)
My children are my greatest blessing.
I am nominating three stylish women who make clothes that I want to wear:
Eugenia from http://theworldofeugenia.blogspot.com/ and
Alison at http://allisoncsewinggallery.blogspot.com/A J Kaori from http://jkaori.blogspot.com/2010/08/batik-on-my-mind.html
Oh, how I envy your ability to wear white! I would have spilled my tea on this before I finished breakfast. If somehow I did manage to make it out of the house with no stains, you can guarantee that I will drop a red pen in my lap before lunch! Glad you got the blouse back, it's lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very nice outfit. I like to details in the skirt and the blouse prints are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLookin' good! I really, really really like that blouse. The fabric is just fabulous and I'm a bit of a sucker for flouncy-ruffles. I think I may just have to try out that skirt pattern as I'm after something a bit longer for work - I wouldn't want those 7 year olds seeing too much leg!
ReplyDeleteIt always makes me smile when you post and remind me that we are entering opposite seasons! In my next life, I will have a career that allows me to spend time in an endless cycle of summer! Love the outfit, the fabric for the blouse is so delicious!
ReplyDeleteThe blouse is very nice tucked into your great skirt.
ReplyDeleteFirstly - this is SUCH a great looking outfit! I love the new skirt and it goes beautifully with your blouse. I'm glad you retrieved it!
ReplyDeleteSecondly, thank you SO much for the nomination. I am honoured and really appreciate your kind words. We definitely have very similar tastes - I always want everything that you make and, of course, I love to read your blog.
That is as gorgeous skirt. Nice job! It's funny to hear you talk of spring/summer sewing, when we're going into fall/winter. Like deja-vu!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great outfit! How hard did mini-Me fight when you took that shirt back? ;)
ReplyDeleteHey, you got your shirt back! :) Beautiful outfit and perfect for entering the summer season.
ReplyDeleteAwesome outfit! I love both pieces!
ReplyDeleteI like the skirt design a lot. I think I may have that one in my stash...hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteThe ruffles on the top are perfect! Great fabric choice, too.
Oh wow, this skirt is great. It looks *so* RTW. And so versatile, too! I'm sure you will get a ton of wear out of it.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, thank you so much for the award, I will post about it next time I do a post.
ReplyDeleteI think your blouse looks adorable both on you and on mini you!
