At least you're not alone with fitting issues as it relates to BWOF patterns. It's going to take a long minute before I try them out (although I love the patterns submitted by subscribers). :-)JChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17087419645536992001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3098393915488355682.post-31203606266274311862009-07-27T02:08:03.908-07:002009-07-27T02:08:03.908-07:00Your dress looks nice, even if you do not sound qu...Your dress looks nice, even if you do not sound quite happy with it. I have the same problem with some Burda patterns, I cut 38 for the upper part (shoulders, breast) of the pattern and more for the lower, especially when I cut dresses.Mon Café Couturehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13204284395364275383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3098393915488355682.post-38259764880533527812009-07-25T20:27:57.806-07:002009-07-25T20:27:57.806-07:00The outfit looks fabulous. Fitting is the pits, but I bet it fits better than RTW.kbencohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00885068563358776147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3098393915488355682.post-73926105548649095452009-07-25T18:29:33.738-07:002009-07-25T18:29:33.738-07:00We made the same dress this weekend! While it may scream home made to you (we are our own worst critics, aren't we?) it is my experience that everyone else will either presume you bought it, or , if they know you sew, tell you how clever you are to be able to make something like that!

Now, I just accept the compliments -at one time I would point out all my 'mistakes' and would get strange looks, the 'what is she on about' type of look and the 'it looks fine to me' look!kiltsnquiltshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05662251436329585741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3098393915488355682.post-85909864031315933522009-07-25T13:41:11.804-07:002009-07-25T13:41:11.804-07:00The outfit looks fantastic, the color of the dress...The outfit looks fantastic, the color of the dress looks wonderful with the coat and I love the belt. I agree with the comments above from Gwen adn Cindy. Every BWOF I have to fit shoulders first (they seem to be huge on me) and after that the rest is routine. Have you considered a coverlock machine? I will never use a twin needle again and they finish knit edges professionally!JoanneMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07218217151372072602noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3098393915488355682.post-27088673280463831672009-07-25T10:29:02.291-07:002009-07-25T10:29:02.291-07:00I love the color. Then doing a FBA, and for my short waist a petit adjustment. I always worry about fitting the bust first, but it is the shoulders and armholes which are hard to fix not the bust. I need to learn to do FBAs better.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3098393915488355682.post-90264350678158615212009-07-25T09:15:17.009-07:002009-07-25T09:15:17.009-07:00The dress looks nice on the form. If you first fit the shoulder/neckline of your garment with whatever pattern size those measurements call for, it's fairly simple then to alter the rest of the bodice to fit.gwensewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05809115166600229262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3098393915488355682.post-15923226261547246702009-07-25T09:05:13.439-07:002009-07-25T09:05:13.439-07:00Wow.
